Work assignments

  • Conducting research at the international level in the Foundations of Programming Languages, with a specific focus on the intersection of dependent and refinement types, computational effects (including algebraic effects and effect handlers) and type-and-effect systems, and modal types.
  • Publishing in reputable scientific venues.
  • Contributing to the applications for and implementation of research projects under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Supervising students, incl. possibility to supervise PhD students.
  • Teaching Programming Languages courses.

Education

PhD or an equivalent qualification.

Work experience

  • A research profile relevant to the area of Programming Languages Foundations (e.g., as demonstrated by active publishing at ACM SIGPLAN conferences or their European equivalents).
  • Strong international publication track record, the volume of which is equivalent to that of at least one doctoral thesis.

Language skills

Excellent command of English.

Additional information

Starting date 1.10.2025, 18 month fixed-term contract. Fixed-term contract is tied to the duration of the project.
