MECHATRONICS ENGINEER

The purpose of the position is to work on unmanned vessel detection and situational awareness projects, including developing solutions for data collection from sensors and data processing, as well as conducting fieldwork.

Work assignments

  • Working on computer vision projects for unmanned marine vessels, including object detection and situational awareness development
  • Designing and developing hardware and software solutions for sensor data collection and processing
  • Conducting and participating in field trials. Developing spin-offs related to the abomentioned topics.

Education

Master's degree in Mechatronics or robotics.

Work experience

  • Structured text programming (for PLC) and embedded programming using C, C++ 
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
  • Understanding of robot localization, mapping, and navigation 
  • Knowledge of rapid prototyping with FDM, Resin, etc
  • Competence in designing electronic/electrical circuitry for various sensor data acquisition and processing
  • Problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Proficiency in Robot Operating System (ROS), both ROS and ROS2
  • Experience with simulation and modelling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++ and Python (for PC)
  • Web programming languages for web-based UI developments for ROS (Javascript, HTML, CSS and web frameworks)
  • Knowledge in SolidWorks CAD (or similar).



An advantage: experience in project-based work and project management.
